Can anyone suggest some strategies to increase times? If someone else can do the easy in 22sec then I should be able to at least break 4min. Help please.

Do you use digit first entry? Is scanning your primary method?

A great strategy to increase your times would be to start the game, then put your phone down while going about some other task around home or work. When you return, your time should be pretty high. Then when you finish your puzzle, you should have a time so high you fish in the 0 percentile of others.
Mission accomplished.

I use digit first. At first my times were a lot slower than when I used cell first, but once you get used to it, the times simply drop.
My best times now are:
Easy: 54s
Medium: 1:09
Hard: 2:32
Extreme: 2:56

Unfortunately I don't have a clue how to take significant chunks off of these times. It's probably close to as good as I can be.

Alright here we go. I am just going to talk about the easy category, I don't play the other ones too often and it feels like getting very good times there is a bit more luck dependant than in easy.
My best time to date on easy is 33 seconds, so I'm not as fast as some people are, but I'm getting there.

The tips:
- Always use digit first, I also started with cell first, but since using digit first my time has more than halved. Cell first almost doubles your needed taps solve a puzzle.
- If you need the solving aids, noone is going to stop you. I have them disabled, doing that probably trains your finger accuracy a bit better and with them enabled it feels a bit like cheating to me.
- On easy you should probably just go through each number from 1 to 9 and use the scanning technique. Most people with fast times seem to be doing it that way, myself included.
- If it is possible for you should be using two fingers at the same time. I have always been using just one finger aswell and tried two just recently, but it seems like with a bit of training you should be a tad faster.
- Experience plays a big part! I have been playing this game for a long time and pretty much teached myself most techniques, but if you you want to quickly learn them you can just search the internet, there are whole youtube channels dedicated to sudoku solving strategies.
- Don't use too complicated techniques though, if one number takes too much time and you can't find new spots, just go to the next number. A lot of people just get hung up with one number what costs them a lot of time.

These are my recommendations, I just want to remind you that you don't have to follow any of these. I am not one the absolute fastest players, so take my advice with a grain of salt, as I may be doing something wrong aswell.
I hope I could help.

Easy: 0:26
Medium: 0:43
Hard: 0:59
Extreme: 1:13

Thrust basically said everything that I was too lazy to type ..

The following is for people who regularly score under 1 minute on easy:

Once you've played enough, you can basically think about other things while you're playing and not even really be focusing on the grid. At that point you really need to smooth out your game and work on efficient movement.

- Try just moving the phone a little bit farther away from you to get a better picture of the puzzle as a whole, try to obstruct as little of the grid as possible with your fingers.

- Try using one finger to select your digit and another finger or two to fill in squares (as thrust said, it's tricky to break the one finger habit).

- When you're completing a particularly easy digit, already be looking for the placements for the next one; hesitation is a HUGE time killer and keeping moving at all times is pretty essential.

Your finger speed typically becomes the limiting factor after a few years of playing easy mode. My lowest score on easy is 0:27, but I believe it would be entirely possible to finish a puzzle in 20 seconds or less.

How can people be finishing these puzzles in seconds, thats near impossible to even fill in all the squares even if theyre wrong in less then 30 seconds

I think your looking to decrease your time, not increase it. I think using select digit first make it much quicker. Also read up on some Sudoku strategies online and practice. You will begin to recognize patterns more quickly.
