Hi, I have an idea for a small feature and I wanted to share it. When I'm playing in Digit-first mode, I sometimes don't notice right away when I've placed the ninth digit. I thought it might be a small boost if the app automatically selected the next unfinished digit. For example, if I have 3 selected and press the last grid point, the digit becomes grayed out. I'd like it to auto-select the next digit that hasn't been grayed out. It's not a huge difference, but I think it would add "fluidity" to the game play.

What do you think? I'm curious to read opinions from both genina and other players.

I feel this could be a fantastic feature, which would greatly increase the fluidity towards the end of the game when you're just filling in the chain reactions of having figured one out.

Question: if you don't notice the fact that the ninth digit is placed, and the app automatically switches to the next digit, you won't even know the next digit was selected. In addition, in your example, if you are working with 3s and place them all on the board, but, let's say, both 4s and 5s are already done, the app would switch to make 6 the selected digit, but you wouldn't even know to expect a 6 unless you remembered that 4s and 5s were already done...

Thoughts?

I'm assuming that digit highlighting is active - I had forgotten that it's optional.

Assuming highlighting is on and following your example, all the sixes would be highlighted and all the threes would return to normal. Noticing the highlight-switch, I would know to "move on" to sixes. I guess my proposed feature makes the most sense when digit highlighting is on as well. Otherwise, it might be more confusing than helpful. Hmmm.

That said, even without highlighting, I wonder if leaving the currently-selected digit unchanged once completed is best. It's more.. intuitive.. but more cumbersome as well. Every tap outside the board slows down the proficient user. I guess it's ultimately a philosophical decision.
