don't understand what this does?
erase works fine. Thought this might fill in last number in s square or fill in when the next to last pencil mark is erased, but no.

This is the opposite of "Auto Pencil Erase".

For example let's say you are clearing a square that had an 8 in it. So, now all the cells in all the blocks this cell belongs to could have an 8 unless, of course, there are other 8's making that impossible. So, these other cells where an 8 is possible will now get a pencil mark of 8.

I would like to see an option where all valid pencil marks for all cells are turned on. Then, when a number is entered into a cell, the pencil marks that are rendered invalid by the selection (row, colomn, and box) are erased (true automatic operation). If a cell selection is erased, the now-valid penicl marks would re-appear. That would aid me with the extreme puzzles.
Presently, it takes a little time to "set up" the puzzle doing this manually.
Thanks

For this select Menu-Auto-fill

For this go to Settings-Auto pencil and select "Both" (as in both "Erase" and "Fill"). This will erase the now-invalid pencil marks after a number is entered into a cell, as well as put it back should a number be erased.
